New Years

We always celebrate new years eve.  It's, to me, a celebration of the past year and celebrating the fresh start of another year to come.  Plus, it's a GREAT reason to have a party :)
AND
The party is rarely at my house!  LOL
unless we have family up from Lisa's side of the family, we celebrate new years eve at Brandon's Grandma and Grandpa Kent's house.  It's pretty much the same every year, more food than the people there can possibly eat and card games of some sort going on between the adults with kids fending for themselves and occasionally zonking out wherever they may land.

Here is Gabe all ready for a fun night of playing...probably house with his cousin, Katie

This would be the point in the night where Brandon's grandpa had to light the lanterns and everyone was scrambling for flashlights or phones to see where we were going because the power decided to go out on us..expected time to come back on...well, sometime after midnight.

These are our friend Andrew and Todd.  Todd comes
to the party every year and Andrew has been gone for
a few years, so he's missed it.  He thought it was way
cooler to become a Dr. instead of hang around Idaho.
But, we're glad he's back now!

Me and my girls.

So, some time after the above picture was taken and about
11:30, we went home.  I can't remember the details now,
but pretty much Kyla and her cousin couldn't get along and
I was done trying to figure out how to make them (I might
have been having a little PMS, who knows) So, with many
tears flowing, we headed back home....

But, we did watch the ball drop (although, we didn't see
it..was it not there this year?) and had our happy new
years toast of sparkling cider

Gabe wasn't so inclined to join us though, he put himself to bed.
And I have no clue where Hadley is and why I don't have any
pictures of him.  I"m pretty sure he was asleep too.  If I remember
right, he was on the couch and we tried to wake him up, but
it just wasn't going to happen.

The fire we had to build because our house was FREEZING
from not having electricity (that DID in fact come on before
midnight though)

The first pictures of 2011

Cadence was pretty tired by this point.
